Parish Councillor
Moya Barker
I have lived in Chester le Street 20 years.
I worked within the wine and spirit industry for 30 years. I had several roles, from Custom & Excise clerk, customer service manager, Wine club manager until my last role as National Account Development Manager. I also worked on implementing the SAP system.
I took early retirement 4 years ago, which I’ve never regretted.
I’ve volunteered at Willow Burn Hospice Shop until it closed, Re-f-use cafe where I’m involved in The Eat Smart project with school children.
I am also an Irish dancer and Chairman of St Patrick’s Feis Committee where we organise Irish dancing competitions.
It’s very rewarding being able to give my time back to the community, which is why I also became a Parish Councillor where I’ve organised Halloween Parties and the Easter Egg hunt. It’s great meeting the children and parishioners at these events.
