Parish Councillor

Mandy Jones

I have lived in the Chester-le-Street area most of my life, I worked in Woolworths aged 18
and enjoyed the various bars and nightclubs with my friends over the years. I am happy and
proud to say those same friends are still here supporting me today. I have worked tirelessly
over the years to make a difference and to support our communities to thrive.
My current role is Company Secretary and Business Manager for Durham Alliance for
Community Care (DACC) which is a co-operative community enterprise and has exempt
charitable status. DACC delivers day care for older people and those living with Dementia.
Other than managing the finances and contracts, I am an active fundraiser for DACC. Our
recent acquisition was to purchase a derelict communal room from DCC as a ‘community
asset transfer’ and renovate it to provide community services for the residents. I have put
myself forward for this position to help support the local community, bringing over 25 years’
experience and skills to the role of parish councillor. I’m committed to representing everyone
in our parish and working constructively with colleagues across the council.
If you have concerns, ideas, or want to get involved, please reach out – your input will be welcome.
